Trends From the Runway Part 2

Wait, I forgot to tell you the other major trends that came out of the runway shows last week. Remember, we’ll see these trends next Spring and Summer. Another great way to figure out trends that will be influencing swimwear is to look at what is going on with apparel or even lingerie. We translated the the looks from February runway shows to swimwear for that exact purpose, now we see it come full circle. They all relate back to each other in some sort of way.

This runway season also showcased trends like:

SURFER CHIC – Utility chic (zippers, rash guards) mixed with sporty-looking color blocking and extra-support underwires. nThis suit by Minimal Animale Is a perfect example of this trend. Notice how they pair the mesh and floral bottoms with the more athletic rash guard. Super cute and you can mix and match, both pieces with other separates.

BEACH BOYS – For men the retro ’60s swim short a laJames Bond is making a strong comeback. Notice the trunks on the last 3 models. These are great especially for vacationing on an island in some ocean or even in the pool in the backyard. 🙂

MINI TRENDS – Soft florals, geometric patterns, tribal patterns, leather-looking fabrics and the usual nautical stuff. This Geometric inspired suit is a great example. It’s color blocking to the 10th degree. The shapes create a new feeling and make it much more emotional. You’ll “love” this on your tanned skin.
